10 Web Design Tips

With the internet being our easiest way to get information, many people have taken on web page design as a form of making money, advertising, etc. Any web page could be successful with the right idea behind it. With these web design tips, you’ll be on your way to a great and successful web page.

Tip 1: Make sure your navigation is easy and neat. If people can navigate quick and easy around your site, you’re set. There’s no need to confuse people.

Tip 2: Have a clean layout. Busy layouts result in distractions and less visits to your site. Keep it simple.

Tip 3: Have an optimum load time. A low load time will be easier for those who need to load things fast. Be sure your page is rid of objects that will slow down the loading process.

Tip 4: Have legible and professional looking fonts. If you use an illegible font, don’t expect people to understand a word you wrote. Make it easy on everyone and pick something simple.

Tip 5: Don’t use too many images. One or two will do, and it saves you on the whole clutter thing. Too many images distract people.

Tip 6: White space is a must. If you have equal amounts of white space, you’re less likely to look unprofessional. It helps viewers focus on the main points of your site.

Tip 7: Check for broken links. If something ends up not working on your site, make sure it gets fixed so people aren’t having a hard time as well. It also avoids getting tons of complaint mail, and let’s face it: that’s never a bad thing.

Tip 8: Make sure you have something valuable to offer. The page has to have a point, and if you don’t make one then you can kiss your viewers good bye. Pointless websites lose their luster.

Tip 9: Avoid using pop-ups. Nobody likes them, and you’d be annoyed if you had fifty pop-ups from one site. We’ve all been there; don’t scare away people by bogging them down with pop-ups.

Tip 10: Use a spell checker. Always, always check. You never know. Misspelling a word could look unprofessional in someone’s eyes. Be sure to do the same with grammar, too. Just as easy to understand, professionalism is key here.

With these tips, you’ll be designing your page in no time. Good luck web designing!
